IMPORTANT Atlantean Card Ordering Update

ATTENTION
ATTENTION
ATTENTION

If you have not placed an order for Atlantean and want one, you should DEFINITELY use the order button on our website.

We will be stopping orders effective 12/24/2014.

The reasons are:

1) This will allow us to gauge how many we have left to make.

2) We can then concentrate on those getting taken care of while we continue to work on the improved board and plastic design for the next game!

3) It will also allow us to concentrate more on our future game projects. (There are more than one!)

If there is a large enough demand, we can open orders again, but will probably not do this until the new board and plastic designs are done.

If you've already placed an order, you do not need to place one again.   You've already been placed in the list that  operates on a "first come, first serve" basis as we hand assemble all of these and ship them out.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

NOTE:   You pay for your card when it is your turn in line.  So, if you are short on cash, do not worry!  Just let us know that you want the card.   Inventory for enough supplies to make your copy is the important part.

Thanks to everyone for your support!

Updates!

Another batch of Atlanteans was invoiced.   If you still haven't gotten one, hang tight!

I will be out of town at the end of this week until the 7th.  Once I am back, more invoices will be flowing out.

Grelox is being investigated also.  It's not a primary focus for the time being, as getting these Atlanteans out to everyone is more important, if you ask me.

Atlantean Shipping / Progress Updates

Quick update:

I sent out a small handful of invoices. I am getting them together to ship. The printer mis-cut the manuals so I have to go get those replaced.

As long as they get them fixed ASAP tomorrow, I should have everyone's shipped by Thursday.

I will be out of town from Friday til Monday. More invoices will be going out after that.

This will line up well with our other bit of news:

The EEPROM programmer croaked so we had to order a new one.

Pretty sad that our PC Engines still work, but a fairly new EEPROM programmer died.

Atlantean Update

At the end of this week/beginning of next, some of you on the waiting list will be receiving an invoice for your copy of Atlantean!

Tuesday, September 9, 2014

SEPTEMBER!

COMMENCING GRELOX!

Also: Printer needs replacement part. It's en route. Some Atlantean cards are almost done (pending the new labels!).

Some of you can expect to see invoices at the end of September for your copy.

ALSO:
I am looking into sticker labels for the cards, because the decals just didn't really hold up like I would have liked. They were fine here, but it seems humidity/shipping/excited fingers handling cards have resulted in a bad time.

Once I have them sorted out, I will let everyone know. Free replacement stickers will be sent to you if you bought a card and need one.

MORE SHIPPING UPDATES! YEAH!

All copies of Batch #1 are either already en-route, or will be en-route by Thursday, finally. I apologize for the delay. Between the manual hiccup and my strange work schedule, it made for an interesting time.

All the label/manual mishaps have been sorted out, and the guy at the printer this time was really impressed by the packaging design.

So, be sure to thank Sunteam_Paul for that! Without that dude, we'd be so hosed.

Once the rest go out, I will be sending all paid folks their ROM.

To anyone who would like a ROM because they've missed out on batch #1, send me an e-mail and I will send an invoice. Upon payment, I will send you a copy of the ROM.

If you've already placed an order and entered the almighty waiting list, this payment will come off the price of the card once it is ready for you.

If you haven't placed an order already, and want to enter the coolest waiting list ever, do that now, and mention the ROM in the e-mail so I can send that invoice over.

If you just want the ROM and have zero intention of ever buying that card, that is fine too. Just send an e-mail.

The 10$ ROM price is non-refundable if you decide later on that you don't want the card. If that's the case, you may be insane, and should probably purchase Insanity from us for TurboGrafx-16/PC-Engine Super CD-ROM before we run out forever.

And finally, Aetherbyte really wants to thank you for making this a thing. We're looking forward to doing even more retro-gaming nonsense in the future.

Shipping Updates!

Another small handful went out.

I would've sent more, but there was a mishap with the last bit of the manuals we had printed.

I check the manuals / etc. again before I pack them to ship out... and...

I don't think the last little handful dried before the printer-dude slid them together into the stack.   They have spots where the ink is completely gone and it's just white.

I don't want to send anyone manuals with flakey smudges.

If anyone does receive a manual that has crappy smudging, e-mail us directly with a photograph of it.   I'll be sure to send you a fresh manual.

In other news:

We have received a TON of waiting list orders.   To everyone who is a part of the coolest waiting list ever, please be patient as we get everything together for that second batch.

The ROM business should be sorted out in the earlyportions of this week as well, finally.   Since we're about all caught up on this mess!

:)

AbCard Shipping Update!

I shipped a handful of the first wave of Atlantean out today.

I wanted to get them out sooner, but, had to take care of a few things...

which included arguing with the USPS.

The rest should flow out of here smoothly.

Also, if you have not received an invoice by now, it unfortunately means you missed the first batch.

You are all guaranteed to be part of the next batch.

Thank you all for supporting this mess!

August. Release imminent!

It's almost Dolphin O' Clock, everyone!

Be on the lookout on the Atlantean Page for ordering information!

You will essentially be e-mailing aetherbyte@gmail.com with shipping/which region you prefer.

The orders will be processed on a first come/first serve basis, and you will receive a PayPal payment invoice if you managed to get a spot.

If you did not get into the list in time, do not worry.   We're making more.

Once this first batch is out, we will have information for our ROM release, for those of you who wish to play Atlantean, but missed the first wave!

Thanks!

Post CCAG 2014

Today, we took Cleveland by storm and sold out of all of our AbCards.

To everyone who is interested, please standby while we get everything ready to fire off more.

We should have information about this in the first week or so of August, so, only a week or so!

Thanks to everyone for your support!

JULY!

Atlantean is releasing this Saturday.

There will be 6 copies available at the CCAG Show in Cleveland!  (We mayyyy sneak a few more in)

The rest have been promised to the members of the PC Engine forum that helped get the project off the ground!  It's only fair!

We will be taking down contact info (including preferred card region) for anyone who wants to buy a copy!

As soon as we make more (It just takes time to have the 3D printer make them and then we assemble them!), we will be able to contact you!

Note: Once the initial storm dies down, we will have a purchase link on Aetherbyte.   We'd much rather like to keep the initial launch local + Forum based with familiar faces so we can make sure everything goes smoothly before going all out!

Thanks everyone for your support!

Here's what you have to look forward to (excellent case + manual not shown):

April stuff! VERY IMPORTANT UPDATES

Ladies and gentledudes:

Now that Atlantean is rapidly coming to a close, it's time to show you these.

The first HuCards with a new game on them in a long time.

Homemade in Cleveland, OH, compliments of Aetherbyte.

These will be limited in quantities. I promise we will do more once these ones go. The sales money will allow us to buy more supplies and possibly tweak the design a little.

Aprilantean!

Atlantean is to the point now where we're basically just fine tuning things and adding all the foofoo polish/etc. while playtesting the crap out of it.

Awwwww yeah.

Another update regarding Atlantean!

The game code is at a point where I am letting a few friends test it to identify how much a dick I am with the difficulty.

I am passed the point of being able to tell what's hard with the basic enemy waves because I am so used to the game that I just kind of zip around and blow everything up.

In the meantime, I can now focus on finishing the tunes for the game!

Because this game is really just a simple arcade game with a few game sequences, I am again choosing to make the music catchy, and short.  Nothing long and drawn out.  I don't want the music to be some epic piece that distracts you.

This is probably apparent in the demonstration video of the attack-wave music.   I basically just use some heavy metal influences and run with it.

So, you can expect a handful of catchy, brief chiptunes in the game that are all chock full of some 1980s galloping beats and will keep you tapping your feet while you try not to get blown up.

Atlantean Update

I am pleased to announce that Atlantean runs at 60FPS.

I am displeased to announce that the game is now unplayable, lol.

Everything is moving so fast!  TURBO MODE!

Still progressing on optimizing some of the other bits, too.

I am hoping to wrap it up in the next week or two, so that I can let people test the game.

Not much new to report!

Nothing of great importance to report right now!   I am still just optimizing Atlantean.  No issues, just progress!

Might be nearing the downhill part of it soon, where all the difficult/tricky bits are taken care of.

YEAH!

Also, the optimizations have allowed me to rewrite a few parts of how the enemies behave, which ended up making them better.   This is also a plus.

Latest news on Atlantean

No major update.  Just popping in to let everyone know I am still actively optimizing and cleaning up Atlantean's code.

Once that's done, the game itself is basically done too, outside of playtesting it and making sure I didn't make it too mean.

Grelox!

If you haven't heard already, we're starting work on a new project, Grelox.   It's a retro style game for non retro machines...!!!...!!

That's right.  We're branching out a bit.

check out the latest update on it from Sunteam Paul's blog!  Follow him while you are at it.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year, everyone!

If you haven't seen it yet, we released a FREE PC-Engine/TurboGrafx-16 game for download.

It's called Reflectron.   Go check it out!

Atlantean is now progressing and being optimized!  :)

Also, Insanity was reviewed by Classic Game Room!  Yeah!
